Your post echoes some of my feelings about the “#MeToo” hashtag campaign.

Additionally, part of why I didn’t participate myself, despite being a victim of both sexual abuse and sexual harassment, is that I felt that this hashtag campaign was created specifically by and for women. Of course I would include trans women and non-binary transfeminine people, not just cisgender women, whether the originators of this campaign considered them or not. Though men and non-binary transmasculine people like myself are also targets, this motivation for this campaign was to bring attention to the widespread sexual abuse of women specifically, and I wanted to respect their space.
