Very sorry about the trauma you experienced.
I got seated on a jury for the first time just as I was contemplating gender transition, eleven years ago. I was going to wait until the trial was over to begin my transition, but my therapist at the time encouraged me not to delay.
So though the formal paperwork and medical intervention would come later, by the time we began deliberation (after a month in the courtroom!) I introduced myself to my fellow jurors by my new name. I was already dressing in a fairly gender-neutral manner, so my appearance didn't really change during the trial. Though once when I showed up with my hair cut very short and a "men's" style shirt, the clerk did a double-take. :-)
I've been summoned several times since then, but have not had to serve again thus far. I wouldn't mind serving on another civil case (hopefully much shorter than the seven weeks I spent on the first one), but definitely not criminal. I've been brutally honest about my negative feelings about the criminal justice system when responding to questionnaires.
