The article does quote Seneca Scott, a Black activist who sharply criticized the statue. Not happy that he agreed to be interviewed about it by Tucker Carlson though, especially as Scott falsely stated the statue used public funds which played right into the hands of Fox News. Scott later acknowledged this error, as noted in the Guardian article.
