Speaking as an agender transmasculine person, I personally don't like using "pre-" language because it suggests to me that hormones, surgery, and/or a legal change of gender should follow. I think a trans person is legitimate regardless of whether or not they have taken, or plan to take, any medical or legal steps to transition. But I think we're in agreement there!
