My primary issue with Substack is their laissez-faire, "Freeze Peach" approach that not only tolerates, but welcomes hate speech against marginalized people like myself. For that reason, I refuse to publish on Substack or pay for any subscriptions on there. I do follow a handful of Substack writers who post their work for free (in addition to offering subscriptions). But I don't agree with their choice of platform, and hope that they reconsider and migrate elsewhere, as many former Substack writers have done.
