I've only read a handful of the books on this list. I was a truly voracious reader when I was young, pre-WWW (I'm 54), but nowadays most of my reading is in the form of web pages and magazine articles.
Of the books on this list I have read, I most highly recommend The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin. Her entire Broken Earth series is excellent.
