I'm taking a "wait and see" approach with this new tier before suggesting it to my followers on other platforms. Regardless, I won't be upgrading tiers myself, as I haven't been gainfully employed in over a year and my savings are dwindling. I sometimes don't even make enough money from my writing on here to cover my current monthly membership costs, so I can't justify paying three times that amount at this time.

Update: After reading this comment, a Medium staff member offered me a free one-year Friend upgrade, which I accepted.
