I just looked at the ALA's list of "Top 100 Most Banned and Challenged Books: 2010-2019" (https://www.ala.org/advocacy/bbooks/frequentlychallengedbooks/decade2019). Of the books I've read on there, I was curious to see Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich, a really important work of undercover journalism that shows how impossible it is to get by on minimum wage in the USA. I imagine the excuse for banning it was a brief reference to marijuana use, in the context of employee drug testing. Really sad.
