I gladly pay for online sites that I use regularly in order to avoid ads. My spouse and I watch YouTube very frequently, so we have a YouTube Premium subscription. Social media, on the other hand, I have been mostly avoiding for months (other than Mastodon, which is ad-free), and I would not likely return to Meta or “X” even if they become paid services.
