I did the 23andMe thing a couple of years ago (which I mentioned in articles about my sex chromosomes and racial/ethnic identity, respectively: https://funcrunch.medium.com/my-sex-chromosomes-are-irrelevant-cad9b49a420d, https://funcrunch.medium.com/mixed-race-and-rootless-f05a2ad96d96). I don't regret it, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to others, especially after the data breach. I can see why they're losing money.
