I appreciate your post, especially the points about race mattering even if/though it is a "construct", due to white supremacy. I'm mixed-race myself, and for what it's worth, from your appearance I would have guessed you were also mixed-race.

My own appearance is also racially ambiguous. Though I generally identify as Black, a DNA test confirmed that fully half of my genetic makeup is Ashkenazi Jewish, and less than 50% is Sub-Saharan African. I blogged about this and other thoughts on being mixed-race recently:
