I agree with your analysis. I’m agender but also a trans male, and at one time in the course of figuring out my identity I was essentially a “gender atheist” who believed that gender does not exist at all. But I was never onboard with the TERFs who misgender, deadname, mock and demean trans folks, women in particular. I respect the right of self-identification for everyone.
