I (a black trans person) brought up point 4 in an argument with a TERF* once, pointing out that it would be oppressive for a white person to keep a black person out of the restroom on the grounds that they made them feel uncomfortable. Her response was that the situation was not analogous, because trans women are males, and just as whites hold power over blacks, males hold power over females.

Needless to say, the rest of the discussion did not go well. I now avoid arguing with TERFs (and Republicans).

*Trans-exclusionary radical feminist, for the uninformed. (They usually refer to themselves as “gender-critical.”)
