Given the choice, I would have chosen to be born with a cistypical male body. I’ve never enjoyed having a cistypical female reproductive system, but my dysphoria with those parts is physical in nature, and not based on how people treated me as a woman. However, I did enjoy a certain amount of freedom of expression in my childhood that I likely would not have if I’d been raised as a boy.
If I’d had a testosterone-dominant body from the start, I might well have remained as a cisgender man rather than come to identify as the agender trans male that I am now, as I might have been comfortable enough with my body that I didn’t feel the need to question my gender identity. But I can never know this for sure. Too many factors. All other things being equal, I would still have ended up as bisexual or queer.
As a black person — of mixed black/white parentage — the question of what race I would have chosen to be is more complicated, and not one I’m comfortable addressing at this time.
