“Free range”, “humanely raised”, “cage free” — all are myths and marketing terms. Even raising chickens in backyards for their eggs results in needless suffering and death.

As an ethical vegan, I avoid eating or otherwise using animal products to the best of my ability, regardless of how those animals were treated.

But it’s important for non-vegans who say they genuinely care about animals to be aware of the realities of animal agriculture.
