As a black trans male, I feared before I began my hormonal transition that any male privilege I gained would be offset by increased risk of police profiling and harassment. Now over two years later, I’m still getting misgendered as female a lot, so I’m not really feeling all this male privilege I supposedly have. I always emphasize that trans women and transfeminine people are the primary targets of conservatives (many of whom don’t even understand what being transgender is) and TERFs, but transmasculine people are definitely affected by cissexism too, especially transmasculine people of color.
