Agreed. We need more walkable cities and more funding for public transportation, not more personal vehicles.

For what it's worth, I've never owned a car and no longer even have a driver's license. But I've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 30 years, nearly my entire adult life. Our public transit could be better, but it's a lot better than most other places in the U.S. (which admittedly isn't saying much).
