About 15 years ago, I tested very low in Vitamin D, and my doctor wanted to put me on supplements. Instead, I spent more time jogging outside while wearing little clothing to maximize my sun exposure. I was able to get within normal levels without supplementation that way. My doctor was very surprised, especially as I have medium-brown skin.

Unfortunately, I have spent very little time outside in recent years (more due to depression and anxiety than the pandemic), so I now take a daily supplement. But I agree that it's best to get D from sunshine if possible.
